On April 11th, 2016, nine years ago, Misty Ventures Inc. launched its first business, a gas station and convenience store called Misty Petroleum, which is our “flagship” for Misty Ventures and served its one millionth customer in June of 2024. Misty Petroleum is located 1.5 km North of Leask Saskatchewan on reserve lands of Mistawasis Nêhiyawak and employs 20 staff members that contribute everyday to the success of the business. Misty Petroleum remains committed to its local communities and highway travellers delivering a full-service gas station, confectionary items including fresh baked Bannock, Chester’s Fried Chicken, lotto tickets, gift cards as well as arts and crafts.
Tumbleweed
As of December 3rd, Mistawasis Petroleum is now a retailer of Cannabis, following the guidelines and process to be SLGA approved.

Future Plans
Misty Petroleum is looking forward to future growth with plans to develop a new office admin building. Another project for 2025 is the Misty Self Storage two-acre lot, with site work to start in the spring of 2025 for power, security etc. to be fully functional.
One of the key employees for Misty Petroleum is Carol Pechawis, the Store Manager, and has been with Misty Petroleum since December 2015 and was instrumental to the opening of Misty Petroleum April 11, 2016.
Customer Satisfaction

It was very cold out and he worked on it until it was fixed. He also gave me good advice should it happen again. Greatly appreciated,”
Carol wasn’t surprised that Ricky helped a customer out at the store. He has helped many customers over the years. He has even bought food items for customers that didn’t have enough to buy themselves some food to eat. The employees here at Misty Petro do go above and beyond everyday. I am very proud of the employees for always helping out when they can. “
The company is dedicated to all our staff by helping to build customer service skills and work experience and encouraging staff members to continue to work in order to pursue future jobs. Some staff members remain with Misty Petroleum for extended periods of time while others move on when the opportunity arrives, and we encourage them to do so. It also allows for a chance to work close to our home community of Mistawasis, without having to relocate to an urban center.
