kiyam solar project:

a milestone in sustainable energy

The Kiyam Solar Project is designed to generate clean, renewable power for decades to come, contributing to a more sustainable future. With construction completed in early 2025, this state-of-the-art solar installation will help reduce carbon emissions while delivering stable energy production to the local grid through a long-term power purchase agreement with SaskPower.

As part of our dedication to community partnership, Misty Ventures collaborated closely with the development team to ensure the project’s success. During the construction phase, over 84% of the workforce consisted of Indigenous labour, reflecting our commitment to creating economic opportunities and fostering skills development within Indigenous communities. These projects not only contribute to sustainable energy production but also help build a skilled solar workforce in Western Canada, setting a precedent for future renewable energy initiatives. The project received funding support through the NRCan SREPs program. This funding enabled us to realize our vision of creating long-lasting, environmentally responsible energy solutions.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone involved, including our development partners and the Mistawasis Nehiwayak community. The successful completion of the Kiyam Solar Project is a testament to the power of collaboration and our shared commitment to sustainability.

iskotew solar project: Powering a sustainable future

Misty Ventures announces the completion of the Iskotew Solar Project, a 1MW AC, 1.3MW DC solar installation located near Alsask, Saskatchewan. As a forward-thinking initiative, this project aligns with our mission to advance renewable energy solutions within Indigenous communities and beyond.

The Iskotew Solar Project is now operational, harnessing the power of the sun to generate clean, renewable energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project, completed in early 2025, represents a key step in fostering environmental stewardship and energy independence within the region. Through a long-term power purchase agreement with SaskPower, the Iskotew project will deliver reliable green energy to the Saskatchewan for many years.

Our partnership with the development team and the Mistawasis Nêhiyawak community has been instrumental in bringing this project to life. The construction phase saw over 84% Indigenous labour participation, demonstrating our commitment to creating meaningful employment and skills training opportunities for Indigenous workers. By fostering local expertise in solar energy, we are contributing to the growth of a skilled renewable energy workforce in Western Canada. Supported by the NRCan SREPs program, the project exemplifies how collaboration can drive positive change and promote sustainability.

Positive impacts

Together, the Kiyam and Iskotew Solar Projects demonstrate the strength of our collective efforts in building a sustainable, resilient future for generations to come.
